Kearfott Corporation

UrsaNav is a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) of Kearfott Corporation (Kearfott) equipment—specifically the Monolithic Ring Laser Gyro (MRLG) which enables reliable, accurate position and attitude reference sources. The agreement with Kearfott enables us to integrate their equipment into our state-of-the-art products that are manufactured for the marine/shipboard market. The agreement specifically imparts UrsaNav with certain rights to provide shipboard replacements to the U.S. military for its Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.

The integrated products UrsaNav has developed include Kearfott’s MRLG Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and 3-axis MRLG for the UN-200™ and UN-239™, respectively. These two products are stabilized MLRG sets and bolt-in replacements for spinning mass marine gyrocompasses—particularly the AN/WSN-2 for the U.S. Navy’s FMS program. The UN-239™ and its commercial counterpart, the UN-227™, were developed for commercial and military (Navy war ships) vessels.

UrsaNav also teamed with Kearfott to produce the UN-500™ which was assembled to replace the AN/WSN-5 and the UN-700™ Inertial Navigation System (INS) which was constructed to replace the AN/WSN-7B-1. Both products are bolt-in form and functional replacements that offer state-of-the-art technology.

UrsaNav also partnered with Kearfott for the Seaborne Navigation System (SEANAV), a packaged MRLG-based inertial quality pointing, stabilization, survey, and navigation device for maritime applications. UrsaNav has also developed interfaces to serve as external adapters for the SEANAV, including synchro-to-digital and digital-to-synchro and Ethernet interfaces.
