UN-400™

The UN-400™ produces detailed real-time 3-D sonar images of submerged objects with clarity comparable to that of a photograph, as well as accurate global positioning of any object in view for most navigation environments. The UN-400™ can also cover a wider area in less time than the predominantly used side scan sonar, which, unlike the UN-400™, typically requires post processing of 2-D images. The data visualization software of this 3-D sonar system enables operators to easily manipulate the 3-D dataset to quickly identify, measure, and view targets from all angles.

To enhance the functionality and versatility of the standard Underwater Inspection System™, UrsaNav developed the UN-400™, a Real-time 3-D Sonar System that ensures navigational performance even in GPS-denied environments for multiple applications and vessels. Composed of the CodaOctopus Echoscope™, a Monolithic Ring Laser Gyro from Kearfott Corporation, and Teledyne’s Doppler Sonar Velocity Log, the UN-400™ is a rugged, portable system for underwater inspection, surveys, maritime security, port and harbor surveillance, search and recovery, diver and dolphin detection, and intruder visualization and classification. Since the UN-400™ is intuitive and easy-to-use, operators can compare shadow-free, high-resolution 3-D scans and acoustic movies in 4-D (real time) from both moving or static platforms and then store the sonar data in a database.
